Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth,
"You owe Me."
Look what happens with a love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.
– Hafiz
The more I study and learn about the world, the more I see connection points in how they all relate to one another. I recall a time spent walking with a friend, feeling so vibrantly connected with everyone around us. I had a sudden realization that if we hadn't decided to meet up and walk together, we would have not only missed being out in the world and seeing others, but also they would have missed us (in a small, or large way). Each of us, moving through life, weaves in and out of each other's, creating a grand tapestry.
Throughout my life, I haven't had one singular goal. My youth was spent as a competitive swimmer and I was able to focus quite narrowly for months at a time, training daily, aiming for an end-of-season goal. However, I didn't have the overarching goals some others had for their lives – such as becoming a doctor or architect. I found my interests constantly evolving. The more I've learned to listen to these urgings of my soul to explore varying facets of life, the path continually unfolds in beautifully unexpectedly and perfectly woven ways. I do not consider it being blown by the wind, but more of a slow & steady pacing to where I am now.
Many of my current paths and interests are things I somewhat avoided previously. To be in front of people talking on a daily basis would have given my younger self severe anxiety; yet the importance of sharing the gift of yoga and sharing contemplations of experience overrides what would normally hold me back.
The more I learn, the more I want to learn. I'm thankful to see the overlap of seemingly unrelated topics that call to my heart. I see the rhythms of nature echoed in the beating of our own hearts and bodies – that even the connective tissues are akin to the mycelium running deep underfoot. I see patterns of the movement of the stars reflected in the ebbs & flows of energy throughout the seasons of life. More and more, I see the ways we are linked to one another yet brilliantly unique. I'm constantly in awe of the large and small ways Spirit speaks through it all.
My hope is that this space becomes a celebration of all of the above, as well as a platform to consistently approach with new information to be woven together with the rest. Thank you for joining me for even a moment of this journey.
