Light of Community
[written for our community newsletter, with Studio Satya]
Within this season of increasing darkness, we can utilize the time to get better acquainted with the light. It is said it's often darkest before the dawn, as if the light must take a moment to gather resources prior to shining bright. The dark itself is necessary to experience light, as either is only understood in relationship to the other, as a whole.
During the darker times, we get to draw inward, and especially rely on those around us. Despite the idea of independence, it is the interdependence that allows us to shine individually. The warmth of our collective efforts, both on the mat and within our daily lives, undoubtedly creates a beacon for more light – simply because we don't turn away from the darkness.
As we turn to our practice, we at the studio are creating new ways to bring that light out into the world as a community. Below we have some new opportunities to connect beyond the studio walls, and some offerings that help restore the self.
We hope that in this season, you find opportunities to welcome both the grief and the gratitude with an open heart and strong spirit.
