Rhythms & Reunions

[written for our community newsletter, with Studio Satya]

In recent weeks, we've had the great pleasure of witnessing some sweet reunions between students, and teachers, as everyone settles in to their post-summer rhythms and find their way back to the mat. While there is some illusion to the idea of a routine, sinking into the rhythm and resonance of community is as real as it gets.

This sense of reUnion has been on repeat throughout the studio, and rings clear & true at such a potent collective moment. Despite chaos out in the world, we can come together, returning to a sense of stability and calm through the practice of yoga. We return to our mats again and again to reconnect to ourselves, in an effort to take whatever insights we gain out to our lives beyond the studio walls. The rhythmic practice of returning to ourselves, finding union between body, mind, and spirit, and the camaraderie of doing this good work in commUnity is of such importance.

This coming together and reunion is beyond an individual's beliefs. We say that all are welcome within our studio walls, and we mean it. Stepping inside the studio, we allow ourselves to be with what is, exactly as it is. We drop the stories, about ourselves and others, doing our best to be present. Present to the season and quality of light, present to the body and all its sensations, present to the mind and its fluctuations. All of it passing and changing, given enough time. We practice to return to the quiet essence that is steady underneath it all – that deep bliss level of our shared experience of being a spirit soul in this human body. When we practice and touch those tender places within, aligning our words and actions to extend from that space, we're not simply making ourselves better. Whats inside has always been there. When we practice, we create opportunities to deeply know that space and live from it authentically and consistently.

Words will never fully capture our gratitude for this community – the way we all share in the ups and downs together. If you're reading this, consider yourself part of this sentiment. Truly none of it would be possible without each person adding their presence and perspective.

In the next few weeks, we have a few unique ways to gather together. Take a look below, and we hope to see you soon.
